Opiate Drug Tests

Sample selection

The urine specimen should be collected in a sterile and dry container. Urine collected at any given the time of day can be used for this test. Examples can be stored for up to 48 hours before testing at 2-8°C. Specimens with visible particles should be centrifuged, filtered or permitted to settle for getting a very clear specimen to test.

How to take the test

Before testing, allow the specimen and examine card to achieve the room temperature. Eliminate the test card from the pouch and discard the little moisture absorbent packet. Immerse the test strip in the urine specimen for 10 to 15 minutes, then using arrows pointing towards the urine. Then put the test card on a non-absorbent level surface and start the timer. Consider the results after 5 minutes of this test.

Interpretation of this test

For a positive result, a red line appears at the control (C) region without a point appears in the evaluation (T) area. Control (C) line fails to look for an expected result. This may happen as a result of insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques. This evaluation card offers preliminary analytical test result. More specific chemical techniques like Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) ought to be used to get verified analytical result, especially after a positive effect on the preliminary analytical evaluation.
